Five charges — including harassment and Internet luring — have been laid against Aydin Coban, a Dutch national, in connection with the online extortion of B.C. teen Amanda Todd.
“This is truly a day that we’ve been waiting for, to hear that something has come out of Amanda’s story,” said Amanda’s mom Carol Todd at an RCMP media conference on Thursday evening. “I always knew deep in my heart that what my daughter told was the truth.”
On Facebook Carol wrote, “This is still so surreal to me and a part of the reason why I am at a loss for words.”
Today is for Amanda. I’m so happy this arrest has been made and hopefully it’s the beginning of many more.
